Steps and bridges up into the main ruin.

Castell-y-Bere is a small ruined castle dating back to the times of Edward the first. Dafydd brother of Llewelyn (the last of the Welsh princes) established himself there against Edward. Eventually the castle was surrendered to the English. There is evidence that in its day it was one of the most richly ornamented of the Welsh castles.

From the car park, go through the gate and follow the path below the rock. It rises up towards the end and bears right. As you go round the corner you will see wooden steps leading into the castle ruins.
