How to get to Panmaenpool walk

Unless you wish to walk both ways a certain amount of pre-planning is needed.

The walk is described from Morfa Mawddach station through to Penmaenpool. One method is to drive to the George Hotel at Penmaenpool and park in the RSBP car park. Do this at a time when you can catch a bus back. There is a stop just opposite the car park and from there get a bus to the stop by the turn for Morfa Mawdach Station (See Barmouth Bridge - How to get there). From the bus, walk down the side road to the station where the walk starts. When you get back to Penmaenpool you have your vehicle waiting.

Other methods are clearly possible - use two cars, or walk the opposite way and catch a bus for the return. Bus timetables are widely available in shops and tourist information centres e.g. at Dolgellau or Aberdyfi. Buses go about every 3/4 hour except Sundays when there are only about three buses a day. The bus times are also shown on the bus stops but just for that particular stop.

Arriva bus has a hotline Mon-Fri 08.00 - 18.00 0844 800 4411
You can also do a search for route 28 on the Arriva Bus web site. Only the more main stops have times listed so you will need to do a bit of intelligent interpolation and be in plenty of time.
